Privacy
This site is small, and so is this policy. Very little is collected, nothing about you is sold, and what follows is a description of what actually happens rather than a list of things lawyers like to say.
Last updated 7 September 2026.
What you choose to give me
The readers list. If you ask for the free devotional, the form takes your first name, your last name and your email address. From the card that appears after you have been to Amazon, only a first name and an email are asked for. Those details are saved in a file on this site's server and used for two things: sending you the welcome devotional straight away, and letting you know when a new book releases. Nothing else.
The contact form. If you write to me, the form takes your name, your email address, a subject and your message, and sends them to my inbox. Writing to me does not add you to the readers list.
What is collected without you typing it
When you submit either form, the message that reaches me also carries the IP address the submission came from and the name of your browser. Both are there for one reason. This site was receiving a steady stream of automated spam, and those two details are how a letter from a person is told apart from one sent by a machine.
To stop the same machine flooding the forms, the server keeps a short record of recent submissions. The IP address in that record is stored as a one way hash rather than as the address itself, and each entry is discarded after twenty four hours. Submissions blocked as spam are written to a log that sits outside the public part of the site and is wiped once it reaches half a megabyte.
My web host keeps its own server logs, as every web host does.
Cookies, and what your browser keeps
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and reports things like which country a visit came from and which page was opened, all in aggregate. It does not tell me who you are. You can switch it off completely with Google's opt-out add-on, and Google sets out what it collects in its own privacy policy.
If you sign up from the card that appears after an Amazon visit, your browser remembers that single fact so the card stops asking. It is stored in your browser, not on my server, and clearing your site data removes it.
There is no advertising on this site, no ad network, and no tracking pixels beyond the analytics described above.
Who else handles it
Three services sit behind this site, and each sees only what it needs to do its job.
- Resend delivers the email this site sends.
- Hostinger hosts the site and its files.
- Google Analytics provides the visit statistics.
The links to buy the books lead to Amazon, and once you are there Amazon's privacy policy applies rather than this one. Amazon tells me nothing about who visits it or who buys.
Your details are not sold, not rented, and not passed to anyone for their own marketing.
How long it is kept
Your place on the readers list stays until you ask to come off it. Messages you send stay in my mailbox the way any letter would. The anti-spam records expire as described above.
What you can ask for
Reply with the word unsubscribe to any email from this site and you come off the list. There is no form to fill in, and no reason you need to give.
If you want to know what is held about you, or you want it deleted, say so through the contact page and I will take care of it.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under thirteen. Nothing is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has sent something through a form here, write to me and I will remove it.
If this changes
Should any of the above change, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
